FACE CLEANING
The base of maintaining health and beauty of your face skin is cleaning. Women, who wear makeup, should carry out a routine of cleansing, toning and moistening each evening, as well as washing the face in the morning. Cleansing will remove old makeup and the grime and grease that have been accumulated during the day. First of all, remove mascara with a cotton bud dipped in eye-cleansing lotion.
Then remove the eyeshadow by gently wiping it off with a pad of clean cotton well moistened with cleansing lotion. Pour a little face cleansing cream into the palm of one hand and dab it generously over the nose, chin, forehead and cheeks by using two fingers of the other hand.
Massage the cream into the skin, starting under the throat, using a gentle upward motion. Continue massaging the cream into the forehead, using fingertips. Gently massage the cream in from eyes to the nose. Massage cream back over the chin, which is particularly prone to blackheads. Use the index finger.
Remove the cream from the face with tissue pads in each hand. Start under the chin and work over the cheeks on to the forehead, after that wash your face interchangeably with cold and warm water to improve blood circulation. Dry the face with soft towel without rubbing. If necessary, repeat the procedure.
Cleansing lotions you can easily make at home using ingredients from food stores or drug stores. The advantage of these lotions is that they don’t contain preservatives, and disadvantage is that they cannot stand for a long time, that’s why it is recommended to make small quantities more often and to keep them in the fridge.
SKIN TONING & MOISTURIZING
After cleaning, you should tone the skin on your face. It helps remove any residual cleanser or make-up that may have been left behind. A toner also helps restore the natural pH level of the skin, leaves your skin clean, clear and ready to be hydrated. The goal is to return the moisture to our skin as much as it’s possible, to refresh it, to shrink the pores and massage the skin. We usually apply soft lotions without alcohol, made on floral, fruit or herbal bases, depending on the type of our skin.
For dry skin, for instance, we’ll prepare soft chamomile, rose or marshmallow root lotion, and for oily skin better will do tonics made of cucumbers, peppermint or St. Johns worth. Tonics made on fruit bases, as lemon, orange, grapefruit or raspberries will be good for oily and combination skin, and lotions made on camphor base with anti-septic effects will be very good for skin with acnes and pimples. Some of tonics and moisturizers can be easily made at home without preservatives, and of course, we have to keep them in the fridge.
